Pikillacta
A 30 km al sur de la ciudad del Cusco (45 minutos en auto).
Ciudad preincaica cuyo apogeo se estima entre los años 800 y 1100 d.C., en el período correspondiente al desarrollo de la confederación regional Huari. Constituyó la puerta de entrada a la Ciudad Sagrada de los Incas. Presenta grandes calles rectas y largas manzanas de edificios de forma rectangular. Está rodeada de murallas y edificaciones esferoidales en la zona occidental. Las paredes son altas, hechas con cajas y mortero de barro y sus cimientos van adelgazándose conforme logran altura.

This is a pre-Inca city which cultural height was reached between 800 A.D. and 1100 A.D. in the period corresponding to the Huari regional confederation. It constituted the doorway to the SacredCity of the Incas. It features long, straight streets and big, rectangular city blocks full of buildings. It is surrounded by walls and there are spherical buildings in the western part. The flagstone and mud mortared walls are high and their foundations taper as they rise.
